Kessi posing - picture: Studios Harri Wikstrand

GIP&IC Habibin Quest For Fire "Kessi"
neuter, ABY o
Born: 25.11.1999

Sire: IC Silkkihienon Arktika C-rum (ABY n)
Dam: IC Jadrans Amina Adriana (ABY a)

Kessi arrived in the beginning of the new millennium from Habibin cattery. My original idea was a ruddy girl, but there has been no single second of regret with this lovely sorrel lad with the most winning personality there is! Kessi has no doubt whatsoever that all the visitors have popped in just to admire him (and bring him food...). He likes sitting in the run, but one cannot sit there for long without checking the kitchen for possible meals served without one´s presence, heavens no! His favourite toy is a feather wand, and every time he manages to snatch it away from an unsuspecting and too slow human playmate. This means goodbye feathers. Kessi eats absolutely everything on his plate. And also everything on anyone else´s plate. And everything which is not on a plate at all, but can be reached with feline agility and determination. The visitors are strongly advised to hold on to their edibles! On shows Kessi enjoys admiration, and is usually sitting in the front of his cage in order to meet as many new friends as possible. And you never know, one of them just might have something yummy in their pockets...

Tiuku's head - picture:Anne Kontula

GIP&CH Habibin Tir Nan Og "Tiuku"
spay, ABY a
Born: 12.5.2001
Sire: IP&IC Habibin Quest For Fire (ABY o)
Dam: IC Habibin Piece of Heaven (ABY a)

Tiuku is Kessi´s daughter, and actually came to us as a stud fee. The little blue swiftpaws liked sitting on top of her human companions right from day one, no matter was it on their shoulder, back or belly J. Tiuku is enormously affectionate, she would not spend a single moment away from her "mummy", but when she´s not available, mummy´s husband will have to do. Visitors are greeted with dignity, at least for the first 3 minutes... Tiuku likes basking in sunny spots, both inside and out in the run, and competing over the best spots with Melli. The laser pointer is her activity numero uno, and woe to the humans if they forget her every-evening dot chasing moment! Her favourite toy is one special mouse, which is retrieved again and again with relish. Tiuku has taken exemplary care of all her 3 litters and is now spayed, but her line goes on through her 3 beautiful daughters.

Melli
spay, house cat n
Born: 1999?
Sire: unknown
Dam: unknown

Melli comes from a local animal shelter. According to the shelter staff, a family living at the end of a road had one morning spotted car tracks making a u-turn and small paw prints heading towards the woods in the newly fallen snow. The absence of any human shoeprints meant the cat had deliberately been taken far from "home" and thrown out. After a couple of days a small, bony black cat appeared behind their door, begging for food. The family couldn´t keep her because of their son´s allergy. When I visited the animal shelter in October -99 Melli decided to move in with me. She is Kessi´s best friend, and was also a substitute mum when he was a kitten. Melli loves going out in her harness or sit in the outdoor run. She prefers playing with candy wrappings & cotton buds, insists on stuffing herself into all small nooks and crannies and lick strong menthol cough drops.
